Reeves Construction Company in Augusta, GA is seeking an Asphalt Roller Operator dedicated to safety and quality on road and site projects. You will operate a roller for compaction of asphalt and dirt, inspect equipment, and support joint operations on active job sites.

Ideal candidates have 18+, HS diploma or GED preferred, 1–3 months related experience, ability to work day or night shifts, and valid US work authorization. Driving license preferred; transportation required.

Mission

Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an individual for the position of Asphalt Roller Operator in Augusta, GA. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively run a roller for the compaction of asphalt and/or dirt and other materials for road and commercial construction. Asphalt Roller Operators are also expected to assist in the general operation of each job site.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Must have a basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics of the machine.
• Must have skills to conduct an inspection checklist on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.
• Must keep equipment clean, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
• Must have an understanding of control levers for movement of machine.
• Must have a priority for safety and welfare of workers around the machine.
• Must have the ability to operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications, Education, And Competencies

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred), but not necessarily required.
• Minimum of 1-3 months of work-related experience and/or training.

• Must be able to climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day.
• Must be able to sit in a machine and operate it for several hours without stopping.

• Must be able to perform manual duties, such as placing paint drums on the vehicle.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
