Job summary

Reeves Construction Company is seeking an experienced Asphalt Milling Machine Operator based in Augusta, GA. The role involves operating a milling machine and skid steer with milling head and power broom, following project plans and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate an asphalt milling machine to specified depths and slopes.
• Remove existing pavement by milling to improve ride quality and prepare surfaces for resurfacing.
• Follow project plans to achieve the required depth of cut and cross slope.
• Manage dust control and maintain equipment in good working order.
• Conduct equipment inspections including tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, and oil.
• Travel as needed to job sites.

Mission

Reeves Company is looking for an experienced Asphalt Milling Machine Operator based out of Augusta, GA location. This is a highly skilled position involving the control and operation of an asphalt milling machine as well as a skid steer with milling head and power broom attachment.

Main Responsibilities

• Must be able to operate an asphalt milling machine while capable of maintaining the depth of cut and cross slope that will achieve the results specified in the project contract documents.
• Able to remove existing asphalt pavement by milling to improve the ride ability and cross slope of the pavement, to lower the finished grade adjacent to existing curb prior to resurfacing, or to completely remove existing pavement.
• Understand and follow specific plans to specify an average depth of cut.
• Operate the asphalt milling machine with a built-in automatic grade control system while controlling the transverse slope and the longitudinal profile to produce the specified results.
• Operate and limit the amount of dust escaping during the removal operation.
• Able to complete pavement removal, the operator may use alternate removal and crushing equipment in lieu of the equipment specified.
• Must have skills to conduct an inspection checklist on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.
• Must keep equipment serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
• Must have the ability to operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow the policies and procedures of the Company.
• Must be able travel.

• Must adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Reeves Construction Company safety regulations.
• Provide own transportation to and from work.Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
