Job summary

Pathways Vermont is seeking a Re-entry Services Coordinator in Rutland County to support individuals transitioning from incarceration to the community. The role emphasizes life skills coaching, housing navigation, and access to benefits within a client-centered framework.

The position is full-time, in-person, with a $22–$24/hour pay range and a $2,000 hiring bonus. Pathways Vermont offers competitive benefits and opportunities for professional training.

Qualifications

• Ability to work within a client-centered, strengths-based framework.
• Compassionate understanding of mental health or substance use challenges.
• Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills.
• Ability to structure time and meet documentation expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for work.

Responsibilities

• Engage in relationship building and rapport with clients using a client-centered, strengths-based approach.
• Provide one-to-one support and counseling on life skills, tenancy, budgeting, housekeeping.
• Assist clients in navigating the housing path: search, applications, viewing units, lease rights and responsibilities.
• Educate and advocate for benefits and entitlements (Social Security, public assistance, food stamps, Hireability/ICAN).
• Maintain written and computerized records and complete program documentation.
• Collect and maintain housing history information (income, rental, criminal, credit).
• Support lease-ups, move-ins/outs and inspections per housing quality standards.
• Attend required trainings and retreats; travel occasionally to other counties.
