Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking a Reentry Coordinator to support offenders in reentry efforts, facilitate programs, attend local reentry council meetings, and act as a liaison for institutions, jails and probation and parole to the justice-involved population.

Under the Division of Reentry Services, you will supervise staff, analyze program data, engage community partners, and promote successful reintegration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in corrections, law enforcement, parole, probation or related fields.
• Substitutions for education or experience allowed as per policy.
• Must be 21 years of age and maintain required credentials.

What is Reentry? Reentry occurs when someone is involved in the Criminal Justice System and needs assistancewith reentering society. The mission of the Division of Reentry Services is to improve involvement within thecriminal justice system by creating individualized reentry plans, empowering individuals with resources,support and programming, to promote successful reintegration into the community.

This Program Administrator position integrates work in the Department of Corrections with the justice-involvedpopulation by involving community resources to assist these individuals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Support offenders in reentry efforts in line with departmental guidelines.
• Facilitate reentry programs for the justice-involved population.
• Attend and participate in local reentry council meetings.
• Be a leader in reentry initiatives and act as liaison for institutions, jails and probation and paroleto the justice-involved population.
• Maintain communication with Division of Reentry and community partners, not limited to but includinglocal employers.
• Analyze program statistical data and create comprehensive status reports.
• Evaluate and edit current procedures and practices to involve reentry initiatives.
• Supervise reentry staff in the community and institutions.
• Effectively case manage the justice-involved population to promote employment and overall success ofthe individual.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of professional experience in any operation or program within the field of corrections, law enforcement, probation work, parole work, juvenile justice and/or social work, or a related field.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate study in law enforcement, corrections, behavioral sciences, or a closely related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in probation work and/or parole work, corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice, social work dealing with the rehabilitation of offenders, or in the supervision and care of young adults (ages 12- 21) in a residential, correctional, group home, detention or day treatment program or any combination of the above will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 21 years of age. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Working Conditions

Works primarily in an office setting. Travel maybe required within the region and to the Department of Corrections Central Office in Frankfort.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
