The Red Hat Portfolio Management Enablement (PME) team is looking for a Senior Operator, Sysadmin to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will help architect, build and maintain the next generation of our modern issue tracking system built on the JIRA platform. You’ll contribute value to Red Hat’s customers, partners, and community through the enhancement of both external and internal systems as part of an agile and globally distributed operations and development team. As a Sysadmin, you’ll get the opportunity to work with many technologies, including Java, Linux, MySQL, Postgres, Ansible, and other technologies. What you will do
- Serve as an Operator, Sysadmin responsible for maintaining JIRA design and configurations.
- Design, implement, and extend JIRA software to meet our needs.
- Ensure deployment, migrations of the JIRA.
- Experience in performing Atlassian installations, migrations, and plugin installation, a must.
- To install and upgrade to the latest JIRA software version which will include upgrade of JIRA plug-ins workflow, modifying the plug-ins and workflow to take advantage of new JIRA software version from Atlassian.
- Manage and maintain Jira users and account management.
- Collaborate with other developers across multiple teams and technologies for different integration use cases.
- Improve JIRA security. Set access permissions for JIRA projects and Confluence spaces.
- Work with JIRA filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and JIRA administration.
- Work with business associates to implement required features.
- Provide onboarding support and ongoing mentoring to new or junior associates.
- Work with the Engineering team management to adapt existing engineering processes and practices; develop new processes to facilitate a productive development environment.
- Work with product managers, business analysts, and other related stakeholders to ensure that business requirements and priorities are well understood and clearly communicated to the development team.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
- 2+ years of Sysadmin experience.
- Experience with Java, Linux, cluster, MySql, Postgres, Ansible, Openshift.
- Ability to maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications.
- Ability to collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, fluid, high-pressure environment.
- Customer-focused and committed to product quality.
- Creative, motivated, and capable of working both on your own and as part of a globally distributed team.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical support for a medium or large-scale software offering.
