Job summary

Tyson Foods in Broken Bow, OK seeks an experienced welder/fabricator for a 1st shift role. The candidate will fabricate and weld using TIG, ARC, and MIG processes, read blueprints, and operate metalworking equipment. Strong reading of schematics and teamwork are essential for adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, inspecting parts, and maintaining tools to ensure accurate, high-quality output in a safety-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Industrial Technology degree or related field, or minimum 1 year of welding experience.
• Ability to weld pipe, read schematics/blueprints, and communicate effectively both written and verbally.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate/erect assigned tasks using various metals (steel, stainless, galvanized, etc.).
• Weld using TIG, ARC, and MIG processes in multiple positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, overhead).
• Operate hand tools and shop equipment (shears, brakes, drill presses, lathes, plasma cutter, oxy-acetylene torch).
• Read blueprints and follow work orders; set up welding and fabrication equipment per plans.
• Inspect parts to ensure conformance with specifications; perform close-tolerance measurements.

Job Details: The base pay will be commensurate with experience.

Job Description

• Capable of fabricating/erecting assigned tasks using various types of metals, stainless steel galvanized black iron. Ranging from angle iron channel iron round flat stock etc.
• Capable of performing the 3 major types of welding TIG welding ARC welding MIG welding.
• Must be able to safely operate hand power tools shop equipment to include metal shear, metal brake, drill press, metal lathe, plasma cutter, oxy acetylene torch sanders, etc.
• Able to weld in multiple positions – flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead.
• Must be capable of reading blueprints specifications sketches, work orders, plan layout assembly and welding operations.
• Perform close tolerance to meet layout print specifications using calipers micrometers etc. as needed.
• Set up and operate welding fabricating equipment to perform jobs, blueprints, sketches or verbal orders.
• Examine parts for defects and measure parts to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Perform machining with lathe broaching tools, drilling, tapping and other machining functions.
• Maintain tools equipment in a safe clean and orderly manner including shop tools welding cutting gauges and welding equipment.
• Follow company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Industrial Technology degree or a degree in a related field, or a minimum of 1 year of experience. (Please List experience)
• Ability to weld pipe, read schematics / blueprints, communicate effectively both written and verbally, sound judgement in project implementation.
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Basic computer skills.
