Job summary

American Furniture Warehouse is seeking a Recycling Associate to support environmental and safety programs by operating recycling equipment and ensuring quality control throughout the facility. The role includes strict adherence to safety standards and attention to detail in daily tasks.

The associate will sort recyclables, operate balers, transport materials, and assist with basic maintenance while working a flexible schedule and contributing to AFW’s environmental goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Recycling and Environmental Health and Safety certifications/licenses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort materials into appropriate machinery for recycling.
• Transport recyclables, scrap and trash throughout the warehouse.
• Operate balers to compress recyclable materials into bundles or bales.
• Load items onto trucks and pallets using forklift or pallet jack.
• Report equipment issues and follow safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and operate equipment safely and efficiently.
