Job summary

Behr Iron & Metal, an Alter Company, is seeking a Receiving Clerk in Bloomington, IL. This full-time role involves weighing inbound metals, entering data in our system, and processing payments at the retail scale for customers.

You will operate equipment like forklifts and balers, participate in the recycling process, and work in a warehouse-type environment exposed to the elements. Prior customer service and basic warehouse experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Previous Customer Service Experience is required.
• Previous Warehouse Experience is preferred.
• Previous Metal Scrap Experience is preferred.
• Experience in Warehouse, Equipment Operation, Customer Service or related fields is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide great customer service at our retail scale, weighing material, inspecting and identifying material.
• Correctly enter customer and product information into our system.
• Complete and process customer’s transaction to issue appropriate payment.
• Learn and operate machines (forklift, balers, shaker table, etc.) to help with the recycling process.
• Work in a warehouse type environment subject to the elements.
