Job summary

Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative is seeking a Material Handler I to process beverage containers and operate sorting equipment in a production facility. You will sort, count, and prepare materials for shipment while following safety rules and OBRC policies.

This role requires basic math, attention to detail, and the ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends. You will assist loading trailers, perform housekeeping, and support teammates to maintain steady production.

• Basic math skills (addition/subtraction)
• High attention to safety to prevent injuries
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Reliability and ability to work varied shifts including evenings/nights/weekends

Responsibilities

• Operate machines designed to sort, count or move beverage containers for recycling
• Load and unload trailers and prepare material for shipment
• Sort, stack, wrap and weight bales of aluminum, PET, cardboard and film
• Maintain records of counts and production as directed
• Follow OBRC policies and OSHA safety standards
• Keep the facility clean and orderly through daily housekeeping
• Assist other Material Handlers as needed across the plant
