Job summary

Municipal Waste Solutions is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician for our state-of-the-art MRF in Hampden, Maine. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot diverse equipment, and ensure safe, reliable operation in a fast-paced industrial setting.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in industrial maintenance, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team while complying with safety policies. Prior CMMS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience working with mechanical equipment in manufacturing, recycling, waste processing, or similar industrial environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
• Maintain conveyors, balers, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, fans, compressors, optical sorters, magnets, and other processing equipment.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Perform equipment inspections and complete maintenance documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment reliability.
• Work safely while following OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company safety policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
