Reporting to the General Manager, you will drive operational planning, budgeting, and SOP development with safety engineers, while coordinating with maintenance, inventory control and quality teams to deliver

Responsibilities

• Environmental and Health & Safety (H&S) - Ensures safe work practices and equipment are always used and that documentation, inspections, and current practices are in accordance with company safety policies, OSHA, and other regulatory guidelines.
• Operational Performance & Best Management Practices - Implements operational goals based on monthly projections and coordinates with Buy Program and Commercial Team to ensure proper grading and pricing.
• Equipment & Maintenance - Oversees scheduling for major projects, coordinates with Maintenance Manager, and submits a 6‑month general plan.
• Inventory & Quality Control - Monitors inventory levels and quality, trains inventory teams, tests commodities for shrink, and ensures reports of off grade materials are discussed with supervisors.
• Budgeting & Forecasting - Works with departmental supervisors and finance on internal budgeting and forecasting.
• Shiploading - Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates ship loading and barge operations; supervises yard and shear personnel; coordinates inventories and shipments; manages port security.
• Stockpiling - Oversees inventory levels and reports monthly; responsible for scrap grading and quality.
• Shear (Fixed and Mobile) - Forecasts and programs processing of shearable material; monitors daily production and communicates maintenance needs.
• Torching - Forecasts and programs processing of torchable material; monitors inventory levels and purchasing requirements; tracks tons per hour.
• Container Loading - Coordinates container movement; monitors container quality; forecasts shipments.
• Scale Operations - Oversees truck and rail scale activities; ensures scrap grading and quality.
• Port Security - Responsible for facility security; manages MARSEC; maintains security contracts and handles breaches as needed.
• Administrative Management - Monitors exempt/hours staff; enforces HR policies; reviews performance; interviews prospective staff.
