Job summary

Securis is hiring a Recycling Manager in Chantilly, VA, to lead the Recycling Department and drive daily operations. This hands-on role partners with other leaders to optimize throughput, safety, and quality while coaching technicians and ensuring clear expectations are met.

You will actively participate in on-site warehouse activities, enforce company safety programs, and look for ways to improve processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in warehouse, recycling, or similar operations.
• Proven ability to lead a team and meet daily goals.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making in fast-paced environments.
• Comfort using spreadsheets, email, and warehouse systems.
• On-site work Mon-Fri 7:00 AM-3:30 PM with occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Recycling Department ensuring priorities are set and met.
• Supervise and develop Recycling Technicians and warehouse staff.
• Set clear daily expectations and enforce productivity, safety, attendance, and quality.
• Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve throughput and efficiency.
• Enforce safety programs and safe material-handling practices (OSHA compliant).
• Coordinate scrap lot preparation and sale to downstream customers.
• Collaborate with other departments to share best practices and resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional warehouse environment.
• Operate or oversee forklift operation and other warehouse equipment.
• Assist with physically demanding tasks as needed.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Recycling Manager who enjoys leading from the floor, developing people, and making operations run better every day.

This is not a desk-only management position. You will be actively involved in the day-to-day operation of our Recycling Department; setting priorities, directing the team, solving problems, maintaining a safe and organized warehouse, and identifying ways to improve productivity and efficiency.

The right person will be a hands-on leader who can hold a team accountable while creating an environment where employees know what is expected, receive the support they need, and take pride in getting the job done well.

What You'll Own

• Lead the daily operations of the Recycling Department, ensuring work is prioritized, assigned, and completed efficiently and on schedule.
• Supervise, coach, and develop Recycling Technicians and other warehouse team members.
• Set clear daily expectations and hold the team accountable for productivity, quality, attendance, safety, and performance.
• Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve throughput, organization, efficiency, and overall warehouse performance.
• Support and enforce Securis safety programs, OSHA requirements, and safe material-handling practices.
• Ensure employees consistently follow quality-control requirements, standard work procedures, and company policies.
• Coordinate the construction and preparation of scrap lots for sale to downstream customers.
• Partner with other Securis departments and operational leaders to solve problems and share best practices.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional warehouse environment.
• Operate or oversee the safe use of forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Assist with physically demanding warehouse activities as needed, including lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Look for opportunities to make the operation safer, faster, more organized, and more effective.

What We're Looking For

Required

• 3+ years of warehouse, recycling, manufacturing, logistics, or similar hands-on operational experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead employees and keep a team focused on daily goals and priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to give clear direction, provide feedback, and work effectively across departments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-moving warehouse environment.
• Comfortable using basic business technology, including spreadsheets, email, and warehouse or operational systems.
• Ability to work on-site Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM-3:30 PM and occasional Saturdays.
• Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED.

Preferred

• 2+ years of forklift operation experience.
• Previous supervisory or warehouse leadership experience.
• Experience in electronics recycling, ITAD, scrap processing, manufacturing, distribution, or a related industry.
• Experience with Salesforce or similar business systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Lead from the front and are willing to work alongside your team when needed.
• Enjoy bringing structure and accountability to a busy warehouse operation.
• Notice inefficiencies and naturally look for ways to improve them.
• Can balance productivity with safety, quality, and employee development.
• Stay calm and solution-focused when priorities change or problems arise.
• Set high standards while treating people with respect.
