Rumpke is seeking a Recycling Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance on material recovery facility equipment. The role requires maintaining safety standards and operating industrial machinery. You will track work and inventory, and collaborate with teams to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to operate forklift, man-lifts, and skid steers after training.
• Must read and speak English; valid driver’s license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on MRF equipment per schedule.
• Track daily work and inventory using company software.
• Monitor machinery and perform adjustments and repairs.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and comply with regulations.
• Complete paperwork and update records as required.
• Operate fork trucks, man-lifts, and skid steers when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 6am-8pm

Recycling Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing repair and maintenance on equipment in a Material Recovery Facility (MRF).

Responsibilities of Position:

• Perform all preventive maintenance duties to equipment according to maintenance schedules
• Track daily work performed and inventory usage in accordance with established company procedures and through designated computer software
• Continually monitor machinery and make necessary adjustment(s) and repairs to ensure proper operation
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and perform all duties in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
• Complete all paperwork and/or electronic updates as required
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
• Operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks, man-lifts, and skid steer loaders as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:

• This position will not manage employees

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:

• Ability to identify, assess, and avoid electrical hazards in the workplace
• Skilled in teamwork and working cross-functionally
• Ability to comprehend and follow safety policies and procedures to determine the level of hazard, proper PPE needed, and job planning to safely perform the task
• Ability to use heavy industrial shop tools and equipment
• Ability to effectively use computer systems and software to perform routine job functions
• Ability to comprehend and follow LOTO policies and procedures

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:

• 1-2 years experience in industrial maintenance is preferred
• Must be able to complete necessary training to operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks, man-lifts, and skid steer loaders

Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:

• Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbs
• Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50 lbs
• Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbs
• Frequently working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
• Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
• Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
• Frequently climbing and/or balancing
• Frequently standing/walking; occasionally sitting

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:

• Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
• Exposure to residential and commercial waste
• Ability to workflexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license (if applicable)
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
• Must be able to read and speak the English language
