Job summary

Metacycle in Gainesville, TX is seeking a Recycling Grinder operator for a full-time, 3rd shift role. You will operate grinding equipment, prepare HDPE materials, monitor processes, and ensure the accurate weighing, labeling, and transfer of material for downstream processing.

You will work to maintain safety, quality, and production efficiency by weighing materials with facility scales, recording weights in logs, labeling batches, and operating a forklift when needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, understand, and follow job orders and work instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Grind, wash, dry and warehouse raw material.
• Operate grinders and conveyor systems safely and efficiently.
• Monitor material flow through the conveyor and grinder to prevent blockages.
• Troubleshoot equipment following manuals and safety protocols.
• Weigh materials using facility scales.
• Record weights in production logs and reports.
• Label weighed material with proper weight, date and operator identification.
• Operate forklift safely.
• Follow all safety guidelines for equipment use.
• Wear required PPE including gloves, safety goggles, hard hat, and hearing protection.
• Ensure all equipment guards and safety devices are in place and functional.

The Recycling Grinder is responsible for operating grinding equipment, preparing HDPE plastic materials, monitoring the processes, and ensuring the accurate weighing, labeling, and transfer of material for further processing. This role supports production efficiency, safety, and quality standards within the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Grind, wash, dry and warehouse raw material.

• Troubleshoot equipment in the event of clogs, overheating, or mechanical issues (following equipment manuals and safety protocols).
