Position at SBM Management

SBM Management is seeking a Recycle Technician. The Recycle Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in assigned recycle and reuse material areas.

Responsibilities

1. Collect, salvage, and sort reusable or recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, packing materials, scrap metal, glass, etc.
2. Operate equipment including compactors, vertical balers, forklifts, tuggers, shredders, etc.
3. Work with collection containers such as ropaks, gaylords, IATAs, gondolas, etc.
4. Inspect materials and sort items based on type, size, condition, color, markings, or other characteristics.
5. Weigh materials and containers, and record the total waste collected.
6. Sweep and pick up trash around dumpsters, utility courtyards, and fence lines.
7. Monitor hazardous waste collection areas and handle hazardous waste occasionally (less than 33% of the time).

Qualifications

• Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the SBM standard uniform and practicing good hygiene.
• Display a positive, friendly, and approachable demeanor, being respectful and making eye contact.
• Respond promptly to requests, take initiative, and take pride in your work.
• Keep equipment and closets organized and well-maintained.
• Six months to one year of recycling experience in a company environment or equivalent training.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent training and experience preferred.
• Complete all safety and task training certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
• Effective communication skills with customers, co-workers, contractors, and team members.

Shift: Sun - Wed 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM / Sun - Wed 6:00 PM - 4:30 AM / Wed - Sat 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM / Wed - Sat 6:00 PM - 4:30 AM

Compensation: $16.30 - $17.30 per hour
