Job summary

Clayton Homes is seeking a Recycling/Maintenance Associate to collect, sort, and transport recyclable materials within the manufacturing facility. This role requires operating forklifts, maintaining clean recycling areas, and supporting environmental compliance as part of a team dedicated to safety and efficiency.

We value individuals who can work independently, follow procedures, and prioritize daily tasks with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, recycling, or material handling preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, sort, and transport recyclable materials throughout the facility.
  • Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Manage recycling containers and ensure timely removal of recyclable materials.
  • Maintain recycling areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Monitor waste streams and identify opportunities to improve recycling efficiency.
  • Coordinate pickups with recycling vendors and assist with inventory tracking.
  • Complete required documentation and reports related to recycling operations.
  • Support plant housekeeping initiatives and environmental compliance efforts.
  • Assist with general facility cleanup and special projects as assigned.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and environmental regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment and perform manual labor as needed.
