Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is hiring a Recycle Lead in Michigan to manage recycling operations, supervise custodial staff, and ensure clean, safe work areas. The role emphasizes material collection, sorting, and adherence to safety standards while coordinating with supervisors and shift leads.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, recycling experience, and relevant certifications such as CPR/First Aid, Forklift, and Hazardous Waste handling.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years recycling experience preferred.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification is a plus and may be required.
  • Forklift certification may be required.
  • Hazardous Waste Handling Training may be required per RCRA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide work direction to custodial staff as directed by Supervisor.
  • Assist with scheduling and training of staff.
  • Ensure safety rules, policies, and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain logs and schedules and support shift lead on punch-list items.
  • Collect, salvage, and sort recyclable materials and waste.
  • Inspect and sort materials and keep dock/collection areas organized.

Title:Recycle LeadJob Description:Job OverviewThe Recycle Lead will be responsible for the recycle, reuse, and reclamation, program. The lead will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff.Roles & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.Provide work direction and assistance to techs as directed by SupervisorAssist supervisor in scheduling and training staff as neededComply with safety rules, policies, and proceduresStop at risk behavior of others and selfPerform work assignments in a team with other employeesPerform repetitive tasksMaintain clean work areaFollow all company procedures, policies, and rulesTake direction and respond to supervisionTalk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional mannerMaintain logs and schedulesSupport shift lead in completing punch-list itemsUse proper personal protective equipmentPresent a professional appearance and conductUnderstand customer service and satisfactionUnderstand reporting systems and importance of the environmentCollect, salvage, and sort reusable or recycle materials or waste materialsInspect and sort materialsMaintain dock and collection areasWork with multiple collection containersQualificationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
