Job summary

SBM in Pennsylvania is seeking a Recycle Technician to join our team and help recycle, reuse, and reclaim materials in a safe and efficient manner. You will collect, salvage and sort materials, maintain dock areas, and support the shift lead with punch-list items while adhering to safety rules and PPE requirements.

The role emphasizes teamwork, knowledge of cleaning methods and chemicals, plus logs and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years recycling experience preferred.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification is a plus and a valid driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures and manuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and teamwork ability.

Responsibilities

• Collect, salvage, and sort reusable or recycle materials or waste materials.
• Inspect and sort materials and maintain dock and collection areas.
• Maintain logs and schedules and support shift lead with punch-list items.
• Follow safety rules, wear proper PPE, and work with leads and co-workers professionally.
• Learn reporting systems and understand environmental importance.

May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified. May be required to have Hazardous Waste Handling Training per RCRA.
