Job summary

Facilities Performance Group in Memphis, TN is seeking a dedicated Motorized Equipment Driver to remove litter and debris across the facility using blowers and vacuums. You will operate the Kabota Tractor, Goossen Blower, and industrial vacuums to maintain clean sort areas and pallets.

JOB SUMMARY

Uses Tractor blowers and vacuums to remove all litter and debris i.e. wood, metals, rocks and paper. Blow scale decks and guard rails. Vacuum all litter around sort areas and scale decks. Remove all obvious litter and debris such as; wood, metals, rocks, paper, packaging popcorn, plastic bags and plastic drink bottles. Collects and transports all types of trash, recyclable materials such as such as pallets, doors, ropes, milk crates, water bottles cardboard, plastic and metals from various locations throughout the facility to the appropriate recycling area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

The Motorized Equipment Driver uses various blowers and vacuums to aid the removal of trash and debris. He/she will use the Kabota Tractor, Goossen Blower and the Tenant 4300 vacuum sweeper as well as walk behind vacuums and the five-yard industrial vacuum. A Kabota Tractor will be used to pull/operate the industrial vacuum.

  • All truck docks are cleaned on Monday.
  • Gathers equipment (i.e., vacuum blowers, etc.) and conducts a visual inspection of the equipment. Notifies supervisor of any maintenance problems or repairs.
  • Blow all litter and debris away from sort areas and under scale decks.
  • Pick up all debris by billy goat vacuums or industrial vacuums.
  • Loose debris will be bagged to be sent to recycle area.
  • Remove debris such as pallets, rollers, packaging material, load bars, doors, etc.
  • Blow and vacuum all debris form under scale decks/pits inside Hub sort areas. Coordinated with Sort Managers/Mechanics. Use long poles with hooks or pick up by hand all trash, cans and debris from underneath slides, scale decks and truck docks. Follow all instructions to remove all debris from scale decks and sort areas as instructed.
  • Collects trash throughout the HUB areas and transports to the recycle area and separates cardboard, plastic, trash, doors and pallets into designated areas and compactors.
  • Stores cardboard in storage cage for bailing.
  • Separates all plastic sheeting type and bags to storage case for bailing.
  • Separates all metals and places like materials in metal bins as designated.
  • Operates bailing machine by compressing cardboard and plastic, secures bail with bailing wire and then removes bail to staging area until material is picked up.
  • Performs pre-inspection of equipment (i.e., bailer, compactor, etc.) prior to use and informs supervisor of any maintenance problems or repairs needed.
  • Reviews information on the Supervisor-to-Supervisor Report to ensure completion of unfinished tasks from previous shift. Identifies the areas needing priority completion.
  • Obtains vehicles (i.e., forklift, tug, etc.) required to complete the job tasks.
  • Completes any daily paperwork that his/her position requires.
  • Makes Safety the first consideration above all other responsibilities. Follows all safety rules and uses sound judgment for the protection of him/herself, co‑workers, client personnel, client invitees, general public and property. Participates in safety training and attends safety meetings as scheduled by Supervisor. Also, responsible to report to his/her supervisor any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Participates in ISO practices and embraces ISO principles and philosophies in the performance of principal duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required. Previous related experience or training is preferred but not required.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
