ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ADOT) is seeking an HR Generalist to support recruitment, onboarding, and employee changes across divisions. The role partners with hiring managers, HR Business Partners, HR Liaisons, and field HR staff to streamline processes and ensure accurate HR data.
The position also handles CDL verification, E-Verify-related tasks, and general HR inquiries while maintaining a high level of customer service.
This position will serve as an HR Generalist supporting divisions within ADOT by coordinating recruitment and operation efforts. The position will partner with hiring managers, HR Business Partners, HR Liaisons, and field HR administrative service officers to support recruitment, on-boarding, job changes, and other employee changes. This position will also support various operational tasks including, but not limited to, ADOT's Commercial Drug and Alcohol (CDL) program, employment verification, position maintenance, and other human resources inquiries and processes.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
Collaborate with ADOT hiring managers and HR support staff to determine recruitment needs. Facilitate the recruitment process flow within established personnel rules and department policies/processes. Some activities for this process include development of job postings and KSAs, resume reviews, conducting phone screens, working in the HR recruitment system, and overall support of the interview process.
Facilitate HR operational functions (AZ360 entry, onboarding, 1-9, CDL verification, employee inquiry, etc.) and other HR actions as business need dictates.
Responsible for providing customer service and general HR support and guidance for Recruitment, Operations, CDL Verification/Coordination, and Classification & Compensation. This includes a variety of activities such position maintenance, employment verifications, personnel file reviews, and handling various HR inquiries via email, fax, and phone.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
