Job summary

FCC Environmental Services, LLC seeks an experienced Head of Talent Acquisition to lead a high-volume recruiting function in California. You will partner with senior leaders to design strategic hiring plans, develop local hiring across markets for technical roles, and build a high-performing recruiting team in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

You will manage relationships with recruiting platforms, ensure compliance with DOT regulations, and travel up to 50% as needed to support field

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably in a high-volume, CDL and Diesel Technician roles, and leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of successful experience directly managing a recruiting team.
  • Expert level proficiency with Workday recruiting systems and platforms and how best to achieve full optimization and adoption.
  • Experience developing systems and processes to support smooth and efficient day-to-day recruiting operations, and business partnerships.
  • Experience leading a recruiting team for waste industry, waste to energy sector, or businesses with technical focus.
  • Proven ability to partner, influence and create trust-based, value-added relationships in a global, matrix environment.
  • Proven success building a consistent approach to interviewing, including training delivery and interview guide development.
  • Ability to understand and use data to drive strategy.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Knowledgeable in the laws and regulations that govern all aspects of recruitment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, and Workday's applicant tracking systems.
  • Proven experience and understanding with DOT regulations, and using Clearinghouse.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and driver qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Build strategy to increase local hiring across various markets for hiring in technical roles, while doing so in accordance with the law.

  • Collaborate with the business to understand their hiring needs and align delivery goals.
  • Provide regular updates to HR leadership and hiring managers on progress against hiring targets and other key talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in recruiting and talent acquisition, bringing innovative ideas to the organization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, feedback, and professional growth.
  • Provide leadership expertise through process flows to the partnerships between the recruiter and hiring managers, to drive consistent practices that help understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Develop your team’s ability to source and screen candidates for a wide range of roles, including sales, leadership, drivers, technicians, operations staff, and administrative positions.
  • Manage relationship with Indeed, LinkedIn, and other recruiting advertising platforms while staying within budget.
  • Occasionally travel up to 50% in any given week to support the development of the team, field recruiting efforts and hiring events.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in recruiting waste to energy facilities, and waste industry roles is preferred.
  • Proven track record of building and supporting a successful team of recruiters.
  • Experience supporting the waste industry, waste to energy, CDL drivers, diesel technicians.
  • Self-Starter, comfortable leading through ambiguity to define clear roadmaps and processes for success.
  • Having a servant leadership approach to your team, and proven ability to drive operational excellence.
  • Have a preference for leading this function through rapid growth spurts and high volume.
  • Workday ATS experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong asset.
