Job description

Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids. At 1X, you’ll own critical roles and have agency to innovate and improve in any and all talent processes and be rewarded based on merit and achievement.

We are looking for a Recruiter, with experience hiring for Service and Operator teams. In this role, you will do full cycle recruitment, working closely with the leaders of those departments, on finding and attracting the most exceptional candidates to join a category defining team.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for roles in the service and operators teams
  • Partner directly with the hiring managers to understand talent needs, craft job descriptions, and calibrate profiles.
  • Proactively source top-tier candidates through outbound outreach, networking, and events.
  • Drive and continuously refine a world-class candidate experience from first contact to onboarding.
  • Lead and optimize interview processes and scorecards for consistency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with People Operations and HR to improve recruiting tools and systems.
  • Recruiting experience in one of the focus areas, ideally in high-growth tech companies (bonus points if they are known for their talent density).
  • Proven success sourcing and hiring for service and/or operators roles, especially in high tech companies in the Bay Area and other competitive markets.
  • Experience in high volume hiring of hourly team members.
  • High agency, low ego. You operate autonomously, deliver results, and seek to improve everything you touch.
  • Creative mindset - you have the ability to question and rethink Talent processes in order to reach both high calibre candidates and hidden gems.


Nice to have

  • Prior experience recruiting for the key areas from a hardware consumer tech company
  • Technical background or education (e.g., CS degree, bootcamp, or hands-on project work)
  • Experience with employer branding or talent marketing in deep tech spaces.


Location Policy

We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office locations.

Compensation

At 1X your work and results will be rewarded with a total rewards package consisting of a base salary, stock options and benefits. Base salary range is $100,000 to $154,000. Your actual salary will be based on your knowledge, skills and experience.

Typical interview process

  • Introductions - interviews to learn more about you and talk about 1X and the role
    • Interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
    • Hiring manager / senior team member / technical interview
  • Team interviews - technical interviews and deep-dives with team members. May include a take home challenge, presentation or problem-solving exercise
    • Technical deep-dive conversation with a team member
    • Onsite interviews with team members
  • Final stages - you move to the final round
    • Expectation management with the hiring manager
    • We will conduct reference checks
    • Job offer conversation


Depending on the role and your background, additional interviews may be added. You are also welcome to request additional conversations with anyone you would like to meet, but didn’t get to meet during the interview process.
