Full Time Tampa, FL, US

Venatôre is a mission-driven government contractor based in Tampa, FL, supporting federal and civilian agencies with secure cutting-edge technology, cybersecurity, and mission support services. Our teams are trusted in demanding environments because we integrate with client missions, combining technical depth, operational precision, and innovative thinking to deliver meaningful results where they matter most.

About the Job

The Recruiter supports Venatôre’s talent acquisition efforts by identifying, evaluating, and coordinating candidates for corporate and government contract positions. This is an entry-level recruiting role designed for someone with strong judgment, communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to assess information quickly and accurately. Prior recruiting experience is not required. The ideal candidate brings either early-career corporate experience or military experience in Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), or a similar analytical environment and is interested in applying those skills to talent acquisition within the government contracting industry.

The Recruiter will manage key portions of the hiring process, including reviewing applications, conducting candidate outreach, scheduling interviews, coordinating hiring decisions, supporting salary negotiations, and assisting with onboarding. The role works closely with hiring managers, Human Resources, program leadership, and candidates to keep recruiting activity organized, responsive, and aligned with Venatôre’s staffing priorities.

Candidate Review & Screening
  • Review resumes and applications to identify candidates who meet position requirements and customer needs.
  • Evaluate candidate experience, education, certifications, security clearance status, and other job-specific qualifications.
  • Conduct initial candidate screens to assess experience, communication skills, career interests, compensation expectations, availability, and overall fit.
  • Develop an understanding of government contracting roles and apply consistent judgment when evaluating candidate qualifications.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and recruiting activity within company systems and trackers.
Interview Coordination
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates, hiring managers, program managers, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Manage interview scheduling, confirmations, calendar changes, and candidate communications.
  • Prepare hiring teams with relevant candidate information prior to interviews.
  • Follow up with interviewers to collect feedback and maintain momentum throughout the hiring process.
  • Communicate professionally and consistently with candidates regarding status, next steps, and timelines.
Offer & Compensation Coordination
  • Support development and presentation of employment offers in coordination with Human Resources and hiring leadership.
  • Discuss compensation expectations with candidates and help identify potential alignment issues early in the recruiting process.
  • Support salary negotiations within approved compensation parameters and escape exceptions or complex negotiations as appropriate.
  • Clearly communicate compensation, benefits, position expectations, and applicable contingencies to candidates.
  • Track verbal acceptances, written offers, and outstanding pre-employment requirements.
Onboarding Support
  • Coordinate with Human Resources, Security, Operations, and hiring managers to support a smooth transition from accepted offer to employee start.
  • Collect and track required pre-employment documentation and onboarding information.
  • Support coordination of background screening, security clearance requirements, equipment, system access, and other onboarding activities.
  • Maintain communication with incoming employees prior to their start date and help resolve administrative issues that could delay onboarding.
  • Ensure hiring and onboarding records are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
  • Assist with identifying potential candidates through job boards, professional networks, referrals, internal databases, and other sourcing channels.
  • Conduct targeted candidate research for difficult-to-fill or specialized government contracting positions.
  • Support recruiting campaigns for priority contract, proposal, and corporate staffing requirements.
  • Develop familiarity with common defense and federal contracting skill sets, labor categories, certifications, and clearance requirements.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with candidates who may be suitable for future opportunities.
Recruiting Operations
  • Track open requisitions, candidate activity, interview status, offers, anticipated start dates, and hiring outcomes.
  • Support regular recruiting status updates for hiring managers and company leadership.
  • Maintain organized recruiting documentation and ensure timely follow-through on candidate and hiring-manager action items.
  • Identify process gaps or delays and recommend practical improvements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling candidate, compensation, employee, and company information.
Required Qualifications

  • Strong ability to review and synthesize information, identify relevant qualifications, and make sound preliminary assessments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort speaking with candidates regarding experience, career interests, and compensation.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple candidates, schedules, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with hiring managers, Human Resources, program teams, and company leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability and willingness to learn recruiting practices, employment processes, and the government contracting industry.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to meet applicable government contracting and security requirements.
