Job summary

Adelphi Data is building AI-native software for defense and national security. We seek a hands-on Recruiter to own end-to-end hiring for technical and non-technical roles, partnering with our Head of Talent.

This role is remote within the US, with HQ activities in the Washington DC/McLean area as needed, and offers real ownership from day one. You will run full-cycle recruiting for software, ML, and forward-deployed engineers, while shaping our hiring processes, pipelines, and employer branding

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in-house at a startup or fast-growing company.
• Track record hiring software, ML engineers & Forward Deployed Engineers, plus non-technical roles across a business.
• Strong sourcing skills and comfort with cold outreach to passive candidates.
• Ability to sell a role, read a candidate and close an offer.
• High ownership; run reqs end to end without needing prompts.
• Clear, warm written communication and attention to detail in candidate interactions.
• Experience hiring for cleared roles or in defense tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (forward deployed engineers, software engineers, ML engineers) and non-technical roles across the business.
• Source passive candidates through outbound outreach, referrals and your network, and build pipelines on a rolling basis.
• Run intro calls that clearly present Adelphi and the role and interview process.
• Partner with hiring managers on intake, calibration, interview loops and timely feedback.
• Maintain accuracy of the ATS (Ashby) for pipeline, stage and scheduling data.
• Manage scheduling and candidate communications for a positive candidate experience.
• Close candidates: run the offer process with Head of Talent and keep candidates warm to start date.
• Help build the recruiting function: process, templates, employer brand and referrals program.

About The Role

We're looking for a Recruiter to own hiring end to end, working directly with our Head of Talent. Adelphi is a small, fast-moving startup building AI-native software for defense and national security customers, and we are growing across engineering and the business. You'll run full-cycle recruiting for technical and non-technical roles, from the first sourcing message to a signed offer. This is a hands-on role with real ownership from day one, and you'll have a hand in building how we hire as the company grows.

Location: Washington, DC/McLean, VA metro area but Remote within the US OK

What you'll do

• Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (forward deployed engineers, software engineers, ML engineers) and non-technical roles across the business
• Source passive candidates through outbound outreach, referrals and your own network, and build pipelines for the roles we hire for on a rolling basis
• Run intro calls that tell the Adelphi story well and give candidates a clear picture of the role and the interview process
• Partner with hiring managers on intake, calibration, interview loops and timely feedback
• Keep our ATS (Ashby) accurate and current so pipeline, stage and scheduling data is something we can rely on
• Manage scheduling and candidate communication so every candidate has a great experience, whatever the outcome
• Close candidates: run the offer process with the Head of Talent and keep candidates warm through to their start date
• Help build the recruiting function: process, templates, employer brand and our referral program

What you'll bring
