Remote-Based Recruiter (Austin Metroplex Market)

Location: Fully remote (must be based near Austin, TX)

Compensation: Competitive base salary + uncapped commission + full benefits

Due to our expanding team and business in the is a leading commercial mechanical contractor in Texas, specializing in large-scale projects across the state. They deliver best-in-class HVAC, plumbing, piping and building automation solutions—and are looking for a seasoned recruiter to build their direct-hire bench of construction professionals.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Partner with hiring leaders at top commercial mechanical companies to define talent requirements
  • Execute full-cycle recruitment for Superintendents, Project Managers, Estimators and Engineers
  • Source high-caliber candidates via Boolean searches, networking, referrals and social media
  • Screen, interview and present curated slates of candidates against defined competencies
  • Manage offer negotiations, close candidates and ensure smooth onboarding
  • Maintain and update ATS records, pipelines and weekly hiring forecasts
  • Travel to client sites (1–2×/month) for kick-offs, status meetings and on-site interviews

The Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years of direct-hire recruiting experience in an agency environment (construction or technical focus)
  • Proven track record placing mid- to senior-level construction professionals
  • Deep network within the Austin-area commercial mechanical market
  • Strong consultative skills—able to partner with hiring managers and sell candidate value
  • Self-starter mentality with a passion for building relationships remotely and on-site
  • Proficient with ATS platforms (e.g., Bullhorn, iCIMS, JobDiva) and MS Office suite
  • Willingness to travel regularly and represent client brand in person

Other Essential Functions

  • Produce weekly and monthly recruiting metrics and reports for leadership
  • Attend local industry mixers, associations and job fairs to expand talent pipelines
  • Ensure compliance with EEO, OFCCP and company recruiting policies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing strategies and recruitment processes
