Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette - Behavioral Health Unit is seeking a Recreational Therapist for a full-time role on weekdays with occasional weekends. You will assess patients, set therapy goals, and coordinate activities to promote social interaction and overall well-being.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Recreational Therapy, TRS certification, and current RT license, with benefits and professional growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or related field.
• Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification (TRS).
• BLS certification is preferred.
• Handle with Care training within 3 months of hire.
• Current Recreational Therapist license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and set recreational therapy goals.
• Pre-certify and review patient care for continued authorization.
• Evaluate patient progress and effectiveness of interventions.
• Develop a goal-directed plan with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Update Treatment Plan weekly or as needed.
• Coordinate recreational activities for groups to promote socialization.
• Assist with timely discharge planning and documentation.
• Educate patients and families about leisure resources in the community.
