Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital in Yorktown, VA seeks a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to plan and implement patient-centered recreation activities. The role includes providing therapeutic recreation interventions and orienting patients to hospital-wide leisure and social programs, while educating patients about community resources.

Mandatory CTRS certification and BLS or completion within 90 days of employment are required.

Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital Joint venture with Select Medical Position: Recreational Therapist Location: Yorktown, VA Schedule: Fulltime Compensation: $47,840 - $64,417.60 per year

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements appropriate recreation activities for patients in accordance with guidelines set by the organization, hospital and the profession.
• Responsible for provision of therapeutic recreation intervention for an assigned caseload.
• Ensures all patients are oriented to recreation therapy and provides hospital wide leisure, social and divergent programs.
• Serves as an educator to patients on community resources.

Qualifications

• Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
