Overview

Join to apply for the Recreational Therapist role at Lifepoint Health.

Schedule: Full-time, daylight position, 8 AM - 4 PM, with every other weekend.

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. This role is within the Behavioral Medicine unit, focusing on therapeutic recreation to support patient well-being.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the patient care team's delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patients' spiritual and cultural differences.
• Considers safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates a broad spectrum of therapeutic activities addressing psychosocial, social, developmental, and emotional needs.
• Completes the Therapeutic Activity Profile and plan identifying patient recreational skills, strengths, weaknesses, and leisure lifestyle.
• Conducts group and individual therapeutic recreation interventions using therapeutic rationale and effective group skills.
• Recognizes, records, and reports signs, symptoms, progress, or variance in the patient’s condition to the treatment team.
• Communicates the plan of care to patients, families, and the treatment team.
• Participates in unit safety checks; knowledge of unit safety policies.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient, hospital, and employee information.
• Attends and participates in a minimum of six staff meetings annually and reviews meeting minutes for attendance.
• Supports service excellence and commitments to excellence; engages in performance improvement activities.
• Maintains annual competencies.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in art, music, or therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy, or Health/Human Development with coursework in Therapeutic Recreation.
