Job summary

Westland Villa Center is seeking a Recreational Services Aide to join its team. The role assists in planning, implementing and evaluating recreational, physical, emotional and psychosocial programs in line with each resident’s assessment and care plan.

Duties include leading activities, transporting residents, coordinating with families, and contributing to assessments and evaluations. Strong English communication and prior healthcare experience are preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a relevant role and healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements activity programming to meet residents' needs and interests.
• Assists residents to and from activity programs and outings.
• Maintains rapport with family members and encourages family involvement.
• Provides input to assessments and evaluations of resident participation.
• Communicates residents' concerns and responses to interventions to supervisor.
• Supports residents' individual needs and routines.
• All other duties as assigned.

Westland, A Villa Center is seeking a Recreational Services Aide to join their team!! The Recreational Services Aide assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of recreational, physical, emotional and psychosocial programs in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan.

Recreational Services Aide Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implements activity programming as planned and assigned to meet the functional levels, needs and interests of each resident.
• Assists residents to and from activity programs and outings.
• Maintains good rapport with family members and encourages family support in programs.
• Provides input to the assessment and evaluation of the resident’s participation when requested.
• Communicates a resident’s concerns and responses to interventions to immediate supervisor.
• Supports a resident’s individual needs, preferences, customary routines and choices.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Recreational Services Aide Qualifications and Skills:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required and lead groups in activities.

Recreational Services Aide Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of prior experience in a relevant role, preferred.
• At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
