Job summary

ArchCare in Sparkill, NY is seeking a dedicated Recreation Therapist to join the PACE interdisciplinary team. You will provide comprehensive assessment, recreation therapy, socialization, and coordinate 24-hour care for participants.

You will plan and conduct individual and group programs to help participants achieve independence and social engagement, working closely with staff to tailor activities for elderly participants; bilingual candidates are highly desired.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience coordinating services for elderly populations in the last 5 years, including 1 year full-time in a patient activities program.
• Bilingual candidates preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Provides comprehensive assessment, recreation therapy and socialization and coordination of 24 hour care for PACE participants as part of the PACE interdisciplinary team.


• Plans, organizes and conducts a comprehensive program of individual and group recreation to enable participants to achieve optimum levels of independent functioning and socialization.

Qualifications:

• Two years of experience in a social or recreational setting providing and coordinating service for elderly populations within the last five years, one of which was full time in a patient activities program in a health care setting.


• Bilingual candidate is highly desired

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in recreational or activities therapy, music therapy or other therapeutic activities area preferred.
