Job summary

Aptiv Incorporated seeks a Full-Time Recreation Therapist in La Crosse to support adults with disabilities in day services. You will develop therapeutic recreation activities, review curricula, and collaborate with teams to achieve social and daily living goals. This is a Monday–Friday daytime role with a 40-hour schedule.

The role emphasizes mentorship of staff, client engagement in health-promoting leisure activities, and delivering high-quality services that improve client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Certification through the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification within six months of hire.
• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Access to reliable non-public transportation with required insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other departments to enrich and enhance services in La Crosse locations, in both onsite and community settings.
• Review programming and update the curriculum to meet client goals for social skills, daily living skills, dexterity and mobility.
• Create therapeutic recreation activities and encourage participation in health-promoting leisure activities such as sports, arts, crafts, games and gardening.
• Conduct staff training related to recreation therapy processes, procedures and techniques.
• Be a role model and mentor for Day Service Associates and maintain high-performance standards and quality service.
