Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a Full-Time Recreation Therapist in La Crosse, WI to support adults with disabilities in our day services program. You will collaborate across departments to enhance services, update curricula, and create activities targeting social skills, daily living, dexterity, and mobility.

Daytime shifts on weekdays, 40 hours per week, with pay of $19.08 per hour. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation (or equivalent), certification within six months, experience with people

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Certification through the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification within six months of hire.
• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Access to reliable non-public transportation with required insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other departments to enrich and enhance the services in La Crosse locations, reviewing programming and updating the curriculum.
• Create therapeutic recreation activities aimed at improving social skills, daily living skills, dexterity and mobility.
• Encourage clients to gain new skills and engage in health-promoting leisure activities such as sports, dance, games, arts and crafts, and gardening.
• Conduct staff training related to recreation therapy processes, procedures, and techniques to enhance programming; mentor Day Service Associates.
• Maintain high-performance standards and integrity of service, aligning with the purpose of the work and the individuals served.

Education
