Job summary

Kaweah Health in Visalia, California, is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to plan and implement patient recreation programs per physician orders. This role works within a multidisciplinary team to support wellness and recovery, documenting progress and maintaining safe environments.

Required CTRS or CA RTC certification, AED certification, and crisis intervention training within 60 days. The position is full-time, day shift, with a competitive pay range and benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Requires National Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or California Recreation Therapist Certificate (RTC).
• Staff supervising interns must show proof of passing both National and State certifications.
• HeartSaver AED certification is required.
• Kaweah Health crisis intervention training must be completed within 60 days of hire/transfer.
• Knowledge of related treatments and therapies is essential.

• Delivers care and services appropriate to the population served, respecting growth and development needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Primary responsibility for providing therapeutic recreation services and performing assessments as ordered by physician. Integral part of multidisciplinary team supporting wellness and recovery of patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

License /Certification

Required:

National Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or California Recreation Therapist Certificate (RTC).

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area. Knowledgeable of growth and development for all patient/family cultural, linguistic, spiritual, gender, and age specific needs. Able to effectively communicate and care for patient and family as reflected in the Plan for Provision of Care.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

$27.90 -$41.85
