Job summary

Community Health and Wellness, LLC seeks Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists to deliver one-on-one home and community therapy for children and adolescents with intellectual, physical, and behavioral health needs in Texas. Travel to client homes is required, with reliable transportation and insurance.

Minimum Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation or related field; CPR/AED/FIRST AID; CTRS or TRS/TXC certification; background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field is required.
• CPR/AED/FIRST AID certification (ARC or AHA only) is required.
• CTRS or TRS/TXC certification is required.
• Social Security Card, Driver's License, and auto liability insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one home and community Recreation Therapy to children and adolescents with disabilities.
• Create tailored goals to meet each client’s needs.
• Document on each session and maintain progress notes.
• Communicate with team members and service providers.

We have current openings in Baytown, TX. Contractors must have reliable transportation and a willingness to travel to consumer homes and facilities.

Job Description:

• Provide one-on-one home and community Recreation Therapy to children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioral/mental health diagnoses
• Create tailored goals to meet the needs of individual clients
• Document on each session
• Communicate with other team members and service providers
• Turn in timely documentation including weekly invoicing, progress notes, and related paperwork

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must be able to travel to current or prospective clients’ homes
• Must be able and willing to transport client(s) during client visits
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and agency-required auto liability insurance (100k/300k Bodily Injury)
• Must be able to communicate with health care professionals, clients, families, and the general public through verbal and written communication
• Must have access to a private personal laptop or desktop computer for HIPAA compliance
• Track SMART goals and progress through weekly documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Reader
• Implement patient care plans through home and community goal-related activities
• Able to work independently, manage one’s own time and the time of client(s)

All therapists must have the following:

• Resume
• Minimum of Bachelors Level Degree required in one of the following: Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, and/or related degree to Therapeutic Recreation
• CPR/AED/FIRST AID Certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association only
• CTRS or TRS/TXC certified
• Social Security Card
• Driver's License
• Auto Insurance (with 100/300/100 coverage minimum)
• Professional Liability Insurance (with $1 million/$3 million coverage limit)

Hourly Rate is based on education/experience.
