Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $17.00/hr

Job Description

The Recreation Team Lead supervises staff and assists with responsibilities such as cleaning tents, restrooms, showers, linens, and dishes. The role focuses on providing guests with efficient and courteous service. Located at 7,500 feet elevation or higher, employees must live on site and hike into the Sierra Camp, which can be up to 13 miles away. Work locations are remote without road access. Flexibility for varied shifts, weekends, and holidays is required.

Compensation

The hourly pay is $17.95. This estimate may change based on performance, market factors, or company policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests at the High Sierra Camp
• Act as manager on duty when needed
• Handle meal payments
• Gather linens for laundering
• Manage trash disposal
• Clean tents and maintain their condition
• Wash kitchenware
• Serve meals
• Assist with mule unloading
• Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Provide information about Yosemite and the High Sierra
• Clean restrooms and showers
• Assist in food prep
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying up to 25 lbs., bending, and repetitive tasks. Attention to detail and ability to communicate in English are essential.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping/laundry experience preferred
• Supervisory experience required
• Knowledge of Yosemite backcountry
• Cash handling experience preferred
• Valid Food Handler’s Card
• Ability to hike 13 miles and work outdoors in various weather at high elevation
• Strong communication skills

This role may involve physical activities like lifting, bending, and extended walking. Uniforms and PPE may be required.
