Job summary

ACHIEVE NY is seeking a Recreation Support Professional to plan and oversee the Recreation Respite Program and related activities in Broome County, NY. Positions available include full-time and part-time roles.

The role requires coordinating activities, promoting engagement, and ensuring safety, with responsibilities for transporting participants and facilitating diverse leisure services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required or equivalent.
• Some direct experience working with individuals with functional differences preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and a record meeting agency insurance guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and oversee the Recreation Respite Program and related recreation activities.
• Research interactive activities, create calendars, prepare activities, and facilitate programming across Day Habilitation and Residential programs.
• Foster independent leisure pursuits by providing tools and supplies; transport participants to activities as needed.
• Maintain and store recreation equipment and supplies; assist with program calendars.
• Ensure safety and documentation of incidents and report to the direct supervisor as needed.
