Job summary

CoreCivic in Oklahoma seeks a Recreation Supervisor to plan and supervise the facility's recreational program in a secure setting. You will organize events, oversee activities, and ensure safety and security in all operations for the inmate population.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least one year of supervision experience, and a valid driver’s license. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to work in a correctional environment are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreational Management, Kinesiology, Physical Education or related field required.
• One year of experience supervising recreation or leisure activities required.
• Experience in a correctional setting preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications required.
• A valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Supervise recreation staff in the performance of their duties and evaluate as prescribed by policy.
• Monitor and supervise inmate/resident recreation activities and craft shop operations for compliance with policies.
• Plan and coordinate special events and oversee activities ensuring safety and security.
• Develop recreational activities meeting the needs of the inmate/resident population.
• Arrange equipment and facilities for designated areas as required.
• Conduct regular inspections of recreational areas for safety, security and sanitation.
