JOB OVERVIEW:
The City of Upper Arlington operates day trip programs, primarily for older adults. Under the supervision of the Recreation Manager and assigned Program Director, the purpose of this position is to assist with implementation, planning and administration of various day trips, recreational programs and some events, primarily for older adults.
This is a part-time year-round position.

Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: For purposes of 42 USC 12101:
- Assists in organizing and leading recreation programs and events.
- Support the Recreation Supervisor to implement a successful experience for all participants enrolled.
- Organizes and maintains necessary supplies for programs/activities.
- Assists in maintaining program records and reports.
- Ability to effectively communicate and assist participants in a variety of settings.
- Enforces applicable rules and regulations with program participants and facility users.
- Responds to public inquiries, suggestions and complaints. Informs management as necessary.
- Monitor program environment for the safety of all attendees.
- Reliable attendance and timeliness to scheduled shifts.

Qualifications
Typical Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent; some college preferred;
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- Prior experience leading recreation programs preferred.
Licensure Or Certification Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification required within first thirty days of employment;
- Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the City's insurance policy.

Inherently Hazardous Or Physically Demanding Working Conditions
The employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.); occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with arms and grasp items; or crawl on even and uneven surfaces; regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects 25 lbs. or less; occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects 50 lbs. or less.
Note: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered light to medium work.
