Join Pasco County as a Recreation Leader, an entry-level position focused on planning and organizing leisure programs for adults and children. This role involves supervising various recreation activities, maintaining facilities, and ensuring community engagement while adhering to safety requirements and organizational goals.
Entry-level position responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, directing, and supervising leisure programs and activities in an assigned recreation area for adults and/or children.
Organizes, directs, coordinates, promotes, and supervises recreation programs and activities, including games, sports, music, dancing, arts and crafts, nature activities, camping, informal group activities, tournaments, socials, classes, exhibits, and special events. Develops and adapts programs through consultation with individuals and specific age groups to meet the needs of the community.
Assists in the administration of recreational facilities, including answering phones, registering participants, opening and closing facilities, and setting up/taking down equipment and facilities according to schedule. Supervises participants, plans activities, and administers discipline in camp, playground, or recreational facility settings. Gathers necessary equipment or supplies for programs and assists with light maintenance and custodial work to support recreation activities.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push or pull heavy objects. May require the use of handling devices or teamwork for heavy objects. Ability to bend, stoop, and squat frequently. Effective verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
Qualifications:
Additional requirements include effective organizational skills, knowledge of recreation activities, leadership ability, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
