This position is responsible for monitoring activity in parks and recreational facilities, ensuring compliance with city ordinances and department policies. The role includes coordinating work schedules, assisting with activities and events, performing light maintenance, ensuring safety, enforcing rules, providing customer service, handling issues, and performing routine inspections and repairs. The Recreation Leader will also assist with department events and stay informed about community and departmental updates.

Rate of Pay: $17.00

Status: Open Until Filled

This position reports directly to a supervisor within the Recreation Department and involves responsibilities such as monitoring facilities, coordinating schedules, assisting with activities, performing maintenance, ensuring safety, enforcing ordinances, customer interaction, problem resolution, and supporting events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current CPR/First Aid or AED Certification or ability to obtain prior to employment
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license with a satisfactory seven-year driving history and no recent DUIs
  • Knowledge of sports rules, equipment, city safety procedures, and basic first aid
  • Ability to plan, organize, supervise, and interact courteously with the public
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
