Summary

You will serve as a Recreation Fee Technician at Yellowstone National Park. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions. You will work from approximately mid-April to mid-November and then from mid-December to mid-March. You will be in a non-pay status for approximately one month in the spring and one month in the fall. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

Major Duties

Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc. The incumbent performs assignments in accordance with all regulations governing the handling of government funds and separation of duties. Assist supervisory staff in the performance of clerical and technical work that is associated with the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fee revenue and donations collected from the public under the authority of Federal laws and regulations such as the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA). Provide informal and formal training and education to employees, partners, volunteers, interns, cooperating association representatives, etc. regarding automated and non-automated fee processes, systems, software programs, tools, etc.
