Job summary

City of Indianola is hiring a seasonal Facility/Site Supervisor for Parks and Recreation. The role supports programming, facility operations, and guest services in a community known for its parks, trails, and events. Eligible candidates must be 16+, friendly, and able to work with minimal supervision.

The position runs January through April, 15–25 hours weekly, with a wage of $12.00–$14.00 per hour. Employment includes drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all appropriate program, activity, or league equipment is delivered in a pleasant, courteous manner at all times.
• Charges guests in accordance with established prices/policies.
• Keeps accurate counts of inventory.
• Enforces all general park rules, and/or facility rules, in a courteous manner and refer all complaints to Recreation Coordinator.
• Keeps facility/site clean and in orderly condition. Removes trash, debris, etc. from area when needed.

The City of Indianola is currently welcoming applications for the seasonal position of Facility/Site Supervisor for Parks and Recreation.

The City of Indianola (pop.16,069) is a growing community with a historic downtown, located approximately 15 minutes south of Des Moines. It is a safe community with Midwestern values, friendly people and excellent schools. Indianola, which is home to Simpson College, the world-renowned Des Moines Metro Opera and the National Balloon Museum and U.S. Ballooning Hall of Fame, is known for its excellent access to outdoor activities, a nice trail system, five major parks and two golf courses. The community welcomes thousands of visitors annually who come to Indianola to enjoy major events such as the National Balloon Classic, the Warren County Fair and other events.

This position is responsible for a number of tasks, including, but not limited to:

The salary range for this position is $12.00 - $14.00/hour depending on qualifications. This is a Seasonal position needed from January - April; requiring 15 - 25 hours per week.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer drug screening and background check. Position is open until filled.
