Job summary

City of Lawrence, Kansas is seeking a Facility Operations Supervisor for Sports Pavilion Lawrence (SPL), a large recreation center. You will recruit, train, and evaluate staff, coordinate customer service and RecTrac training, and host tournaments and events.

The role requires developing budgets, monitoring operations, and reporting on facility activities, with strong teamwork and communication essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation Business Management, or related field is preferred.
• Three to five years of experience operating public facilities and reservation systems.
• Two to three years of supervisory experience.
• Strong communication, detail orientation, multitasking, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, train, motivate, and evaluate facility staff.
• Coordinate staff training on customer service and RecTrac usage.
• Recruit and host local, regional, and national tournaments and events.
• Monitor facility operations and balance internal use with bookings.
• Oversee staff scheduling for ballfield rentals, practices, and games.
• Develop and manage facility budgets and prepare reports.
