Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department is seeking a Recreation Specialist for the Sportsplex to plan, organize, and direct athletic reservations, tournaments and stadium events. You will manage reservations, plan large-scale events, coordinate vendors and contracts, and work with maintenance to ensure facilities are ready for events.

The role requires night and weekend work based on event schedules, with opportunities to train and lead part-time staff and explore new marketing

Competenze

• Experience: No experience required.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Park and Recreation Administration, Health and Physical Education, or a related field, or
• Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes

Mansioni

• Provide customer service and handle funds in a recreation center or park facility via phone, email, web, social media and walk-in patrons.
• Ensure safety of participants/spectators and administer first aid when necessary.
• Enforce rules and regulations.
• Collect fees and registrations for programs and facility rentals.
• Assist in light maintenance of facilities and recreational areas.
• Handle inquiries and complaints from the public.
• May drive county vehicle to transport participants or travel to other locations.
• Assist with department events.
• May serve as manager on duty if Sr Facility Manager and Facility Manager are not available.

Bachelor's degree with 6 months of Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation experience
