Skilled Nursing of Far Rockaway is hiring a Recreation Director to lead resident life at our modern, beautifully maintained skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. The Recreation Director shapes the daily experience of our residents in a warm, family-like community backed by a strong, well-established skilled nursing organization.

As Recreation Director, you'll lead a program residents look forward to every day, with strong leadership support and opportunity for growth.

Qualifications

• Prior SNF/LTC recreation experience is required.
• Experience as Recreation Director or Activities Director.
• Experience working in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and lead a full calendar of recreation and activity programs for residents.
• Complete recreation assessments and care plan documentation, including MDS requirements.
• Supervise, schedule, and train the recreation and activities staff.
• Partner with nursing, social services, and families to meet each resident's interests and needs.
• Keep the recreation program compliant with New York State and federal regulations.

Prior nursing home experience is required for the Recreation Director position.

Recreation Director Duties

• Plan, schedule, and lead a full calendar of recreation and activity programs for residents

• Complete recreation assessments and care plan documentation, including Minimum Data Set (MDS) requirements

• Supervise, schedule, and train the recreation and activities staff

• Partner with nursing, social services, and families to meet each resident's interests and needs

• Keep the recreation program compliant with New York State and federal regulations
