Position Summary

Explore the many facets of recreation at Nemacolin while building practical skills in luxury hospitality and guest experience. As a Recreation Coordinator Intern, you will gain hands‑on exposure to The Peak and the resort’s recreational division, and its expansive 2,200-acre property, from high‑adventure experiences and indoor entertainment to year‑round pool operations. This paid, 12‑week internship places you in a Forbes‑and‑AAA‑rated environment where you will learn from experienced recreation professionals, develop the confidence to lead in an active guest‑facing setting, and connect your academic experience to a future in recreation and tourism management.

What You Will Create
  • Memorable recreational experiences as you gain hands‑on exposure to The Peak and the broader recreational division, learning how engaging, safe, and thoughtful service brings each experience to life
  • Versatile recreation expertise through exposure to high‑adventure offerings, including zip‑lining, belaying, the high ropes challenge course, and Jeep off‑roading

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s degree program in parks and recreation, hospitality management, sports management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA, with upperclassman status preferred, particularly for students seeking to fulfill experiential educational requirements during their junior or senior year
  • Previous recreation and customer service experience preferred
  • Commitment to completing a consecutive 12‑week internship, as required by the intern rotation
  • Continuous authorization to work in the U.S. for the duration of the internship
  • Ability to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining the energy, physical stamina, and composure required in an active, guest‑facing environment
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours at a time and remain effective in high‑pressure situations
  • Fluency in English required
