Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 2+ years of educational or recreational programming for children.
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Experience creating activities that support child development and family engagement.
  • Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practices, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care.

THE ROLE

Win is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Recreation Coordinator to lead educational and recreational programming for children and families residing in our shelter programs. In this role, you will design and oversee activities that support child development, celebrate the diverse cultural backgrounds of our families, and create positive experiences that foster learning, engagement, and well-being. You will also supervise Recreation Associates and help ensure a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for all participants.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Plan, develop, and oversee educational and recreational programs that support the growth and well-being of children and families
  • Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and city agencies to expand access to educational and recreational opportunities
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Recreation Associates while supporting staff performance and training initiatives
  • Create activity schedules, promote parent engagement, and coordinate culturally responsive events and celebrations
  • Ensure the safety of participating children by monitoring attendance, supervising activities, and maintaining program standards
  • Manage recreation supplies, equipment, and inventory while ensuring activity spaces remain safe and well organized
  • Collaborate with program staff, multidisciplinary teams, and community partners to address the needs of participating children and families
  • Maintain accurate documentation, attendance records, reports, and program data while supporting continuous program improvement
WHO YOU WILL BE

You will hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field

You will have at least two (2) years of experience providing educational or recreational programming for children, along with one (1) year of supervisory experience

You will possess your current CPR and First Aid Certification

You will have experience creating engaging activities that support child development, family engagement, and positive youth outcomes

You will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

You will be knowledgeable about Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC)
