Job summary

Women In Need, Inc. (Win) is seeking a Recreation Associate to create safe, engaging activities for children and families living in shelter. You will support educational and recreational programming that respects diverse cultures and promotes positive child development.

You will plan and facilitate activities, supervise field trips, coordinate events, partner with community organizations, and maintain records to ensure high-quality programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience providing educational, recreational, or youth development programming for children, preferably within homeless or at‑risk populations.
  • Ability to build trusting and supportive relationships with children and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback and recommendations to strengthen programs and ensure activities meet the needs of children and families.

THE ROLE

Win is looking for an energetic and compassionate Recreation Associate to help create safe, engaging, and enriching experiences for children and families living in shelter. In this role, you will support educational and recreational programming that celebrates the diverse cultural backgrounds of the families we serve while fostering positive child development, community engagement, and family well-being.

What You Will Do
  • Plan and facilitate recreational, educational, and social activities for children, youth, and families

  • Build partnerships with community organizations to expand access to free and low-cost activities and resources
  • Escort and supervise children and youth during field trips, community outings, and program activities

Who You Will Be
