Under the supervision of the designated manager, the incumbent assists in the administration, scheduling, and operation of assigned facilities. Responsibilities vary based on the specific facility and may include monitoring participants, providing instruction, handling cash and reports, communication, registration processing, paperwork, custodial duties, and more. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities During Emergencies

Essential employees may be required to work during emergencies, potentially around the clock and on short notice. Non-essential employees will be called in at the discretion of their Department Head.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assist with special events setup and cleanup.
  • Support onsite sports programs, including equipment setup and takedown.
  • Monitor patrons, including children, in various activities.
  • Prepare and serve food at concessions, using necessary equipment.
  • Handle cash transactions as needed.
  • Monitor facility usage, perform opening/closing duties, and minor maintenance.
  • Provide information and instructions to clients about facilities and programs.
  • Record attendance and incident reports.
  • Perform custodial duties as required.
  • Operate equipment such as Zamboni or golf carts when assigned.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Sound judgment and effective relationship skills.
  • Clear and persuasive communication.
  • Operate necessary equipment, including specialized machinery and computers.
  • Work in various environmental conditions including heat, humidity, noise, fumes, and odors.
Minimum Requirements
  • Mandatory drug/alcohol testing.
  • Candidates under 18 must be enrolled in or have completed high school.
  • Must obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications within 12 months of hire.
  • Must meet DCF requirements if working with youth.

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Six months of related experience or training.

This role involves physical activities such as balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, talking, visual acuity, walking, and more.

The work environment includes exposure to adverse conditions like extreme temperatures, humidity, chemicals, noise, dust, wind, and sun. Contact with the public, vendors, and agencies is common. Hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
