Job summary

About the position

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation at Seymour Johnson AFB. This is a Part-Time position at 20 hours per week. Must be able to preform moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience

• Must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs.
• Must have extensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, and techniques of a broad range of outdoor recreation programs.
• Must have in depth knowledge of the concepts, principles, and techniques of a broad range of outdoor recreation programs.
• Must have in depth knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Strong organization and planning skills required.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to motivate, train, and work effectively with coworkers and volunteers.
• Knowledge of lifesaving techniques applied to WSI, skiing, rafting, hiking and other outdoor recreation activities.
• Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office software programs are highly desirable.
• Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
• Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
• Required to obtain and retain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), at the activity's expense.
• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
• Availability to work uncommon hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays and work a schedule that flexes with the program schedule demands.
